Artist in the Park

In 2015 and again in 2016, Boo participated in the Artist in the Park program run by the Territory Wildlife Park at Berry Springs in the Northern Territory. The program runs every year and is a wonderful opportunity for artists inspired by the flora and fauna of the Top End to get up close and personal with the furry and feathered creatures that populate our unique environment. Boo created a significant body of work during these two years and continues to visit the park for inspiration. The 2015 residency was undertaken with support from the Northern Territory Government through Arts NT.

You can find out more about the Artist in the Park program here.

Susurrus (exhibition)

In 2015 Boo held a solo exhibition of work developed during her first Territory Wildlife Park residency at the Tactile Arts Gallery in Darwin.

The Flying Gecko Project

Boo is one of three (two artists and a geek) behind The Flying Gecko Project. The Flying Gecko Project supports other Darwin artists by providing opportunities to show and sell their work to the public.

The Local

In 2019 The Flying Gecko project founded The Local at Parap.

The Local is home to the work of around 45 amazing local artists working across a variety of mediums including ceramics, textiles, glass, painting and silversmithing. The Flying Gecko Project runs the shop and artists pay a weekly rent but no commission on their sales.

The Local can be found at
6/36 Parap Place, Parap, NT
at the heart of the vibrant Parap Village Shops and Saturday Market.

You can find me there most Fridays and often on Saturday too and you’ll find the largest bippidii boppidii range available anywhere in this location.

The Green Ant Craft Fair

The Flying Gecko Project also run the Green Ant Craft Fair (formerly The Marrara Christmas Craft Fair), taking over operations in 2018.
The Green Ant Craft Fair is held at the Darwin Showgrounds on the last weekend of December each year. Around 150 local artists and creatives come together for a huge showing of their creative talent.

Business development

In 2019 Boo secured a grant through Arts NT to support the development of bippidii boppidii into a sustainable Territory arts business. She is currently working with business advisor and mentor Colin Hall at Building Better Businesses to develop new and more efficient business systems to ensure that bippidii boppidii thrives well into the future.
